This Privacy Policy describes how TheDailyHourglass LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information you provide when using PYOG at pyog.org. By using the platform you agree to the practices described here.

Information you give us directly:

• Email address — when you join the waitlist or submit a campaign
• Campaign content — artist name, campaign title, funding goal, description, social links, track links, and cover images you submit
• Payment information — processed by Stripe directly; we do not store card numbers or bank details

Information collected automatically:

• Basic usage data (pages visited, referral source) via standard server logs
• IP address and browser type for security and fraud prevention

3. How We Use Your Information

• To send waitlist confirmation and platform updates
• To review and approve campaign submissions
• To notify you when your campaign goes live or receives backing
• To process and reconcile payments through Stripe
• To detect and prevent fraud or abuse
• To improve the platform based on aggregate usage patterns

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Ever.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate the platform. Each has its own privacy policy.

• Railway — hosts our backend and database (PostgreSQL)
• Netlify — hosts the pyog.org website
• Resend — sends transactional emails (confirmations, notifications)
• Stripe — processes payments; Stripe handles all card data under PCI DSS compliance

We share only the minimum data each service needs to function.

5. Cookies

PYOG uses minimal cookies — primarily for session handling and basic analytics. We do not use advertising trackers or sell cookie data. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; some platform features may not work correctly if you do.

6. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account or campaign is active, and for a reasonable period afterward for legal and accounting purposes. Waitlist emails are retained until you request removal. You can request deletion at any time by emailing support@pyog.org.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your data
• Opt out of marketing emails (unsubscribe link in every email)
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

8. Children's Privacy

PYOG is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted data to us, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the platform grows. Material changes will be noted by updating the effective date above. Continued use of PYOG after changes means you accept the updated policy.
